So FINALLY after many years of planning
trips to the airports, over booked flights, and just plain bad luck
I MADE IT TO
trips to the airports, over booked flights, and just plain bad luck
I MADE IT TO
NYC!!!
Left the PHX airport at a god awful early hour and it safely into JFK where
the greatest BFF was waiting to pick me up
non other then
Christopher De La Paz!
After the short education on how to pay to get out of the airport (?!)
and a short quick description of where we were going
and what stops we were going to take, i had to remind Chris
i had NO idea what he was talking about.
He's turning into such a new yorker!

DAY 1: Made it safely into Brooklyn next to the weirdest grocery store ever
THE WESTERN BEEF
to Chris's Apt that smelled like fish (so stereotypical)
So walk in and meet with 2 of his 3 other roommates.
Meet Butch.

so after some down time we headed
to the subway and on to Manhattan to have a little walk around
CENTRAL PARK!
SO BEAUTIFUL!
After that adventure we went to meet up with the the famous
Schreck. (shrek) Chris's bestie of NYC.
meet Clinton Schreck.
Thanks to him i am educated on anything and everything and more then i needed to know
about them and when/if they attack.
I'm all set.
After some chill time decided to head to Queens
for a party.
So after many subway stops later and an umbrella war between chris and schreck
we made it to Queens where
that party ended up being a bust SO i decided we HAD to go to none other then
WHITE CASTLE!
DIRTY AND CHEAP JUST THE WAY I LIKE MY FOOD!
it wasn't to bad actually.
DAY 2- Headed into the city.
Did some sight seeing down Chris's favorite parts of town
and got PIZZA!
2 pieces and a soda for 2.75!!!
totally saw the house/area the did the filming for
I am Legend that was pretty awesome!!
Also hit up china town, and all the shopping areas which i totally loved!
together because he needs to get more flexible or something?
Lots of sight seeing LOTS of walking.
ended the evening back at Schrecks
where his roomies met us after work.
ALL IN ALL i love the city!
DAY 3- We slept a lot today.
In the evening we headed to times square!!
Naturally i had to drag Chris's butt to the HARD ROCK CAFE!
We walked around for ever and just checked stuff out
there is SO MUCH to just look at in this
city you can never run out of things to do!!
DAY 4- Chris is a horrible direction giver.
Today we went to the
Empire State Building
DID YOU KNOW?!
that on the tip top of the empire state building there is a blimp passenger loading
and unloading dock. It is not used because there were WAY to many complications
with it after the first test run.
and the wedgie building
Chris let me lead the way??!!
because i totally know my way around New York City!
After all that we headed back to Brooklyn to get cleaned up and go back
out for the evening with his buddies.
DAY 5- DOWN DAY!!
i slept alot and chris worked on his next adventure movie.
:-)
still a good day.
DAY 6- MOMA day
the Museum of Modern Art was amazing to say the least.
had paintings from Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollack, Henri Matisse.
Mark Rothko and of course Picasso.
LOVED EVERY SECOND IN HERE!!
After the museum we walked back to Central Park and had some chill time
just people watching and relaxed.
Statue of Liberty, which might i add is a lot smaller in real life.
over to ground zero.
The site is completely gated off now and construction is well under way.
It was a pretty moving site to be at and walking around it buildings have
monuments and structures in remembrance.
DAY 7- CONEY ISLAND DAY!!!
and headed to the beach!
Saw the wonder wheel, the worlds oldest roller coaster, and of course
Nathans Hotdog stand!!
walked the Brooklyn Bridge.
Bad idea, it started raining.
THEN continued walking to Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station.
Then back to Brooklyn for some down time.
DAY 8- My last day.
Just relaxed and watched some movies with chris while i worked on my packing
and SOMEHOW managed to get everything to fit back in.
Got on the subway and headed to the airport.
after paying to get back INTO the airport (airtram BS)
said my good byes to Chris with a promise to not take SO
long to make it back a second time.
headed into the JFK airport a little over and hour
before my flight but... little did i know
IT WAS A MADHOUSE!!!!
two hour line for security check and probably over a 2 hour line just
for baggage check.
luckily i didn't have any baggage! just a carry on.
After a hectic 30 min i finally befriended an airport employee and got my boarding pass
and knowing i wouldn't make the plane she flashed her badge to a couple
of people and i was put RIGHT in the front of the line.
i dared to not look back at what i knew were several VERY PISSED people looking back at me.
After a hasty thanks i quickly got through security...
as i put on my last shoe they made an announcement..
last call FOR MY FLIGHT!
ladies and gentlemen, i was THAT GIRL
dashing through the airport luggage wheels rolling top speed behind me
trying to make my gate on the OTHER side of the terminal.
HAHAHA
check it off the bucket list.
After my dash I made my flight!!!
I had such an amazing trip and already can't wait to go back. There is SO much that
I want to go do already!!
now officially i can say
I -heart- NYC
xoxo
LOVE it!
